Fun Stuff!

Hi Chambers Fans;
I've been putting off offering this because life is hectic with trying to move (into the house that I got my Chambers for), but I've just got to offer to share these two unique pieces of Chambers history.
I think my Chambers must have been originally owned by a Chambers salesman or dealer because it came with some really fun salesman-type literature. The two original items I got are:
1. "Chambers Sales Clinic" notebook. I believe it's from 1948, just from some references in the information. The beginning sentece reads "Thousands of housewives have been forced to do their own work as a result of the servant shortage." (It was a different world back then!) It's about 15 pages long and tells how to sell Chambers - including the script for when the salesman is actually doing a demonstration dinner.
2. "Cooks with the Gas Turned Off" table-top flip chart. This must be another salesman's tool. It has a cardboard front and back and is meant to be a table tent with pictures and big print facing the customer and scripts on the other side facing the salesman (note how I don't even think about saying salesPERSON).
So, I would be glad to photocopy and send anyone who would like a copy a copy. Here are the drawbacks - I can't do it for a while (maybe a month or so) and for now, I can only do a regular xerox (not a nice scanned and looking like the original copy).
If you would be interested in getting a copy of both (or just one, but specify which one), just send me an email with your address. If a lot of people want copies, I may ask for a few bucks to help cover postage, but it would be my please to share these gems with those who will appreciate them.

Wow, what cool finds!! I would LOVE to have a copy, and would really love to get good quality copies. I would be happy to pay the costs if you have a local print shop that could do it for you and make an exact color duplicate, with the orignal weight of paper stock. Would you be interested in doing that? If so, there might be several of us that could pitch in and share the costs. Of course, all of us should foot the bill so none of it would cost you a dime, not even the postage. Would you be willing to do that?

Is there anyone else out there that would like to join the pool for this?

Ann, you're a doll for even offering to share this with us. Some of us crazy Chambers people love this kinda stuff!!

I would definitely be interested in a copy and would happily pitch in to cover print costs and postage. I just received my literature from the Uncertain Stoveman yesterday and had a great time looking through all of it.

Me too! It would make great Xmas gifts for my Chambers geek friends, and of course I would tell my wife how critcal it is to our kitchen happiness!

I finally got around to getting estimates for reproductions of the salesman's flip chart and training manual.
These prices are estimates and may go up or down a little depending on how many people want them.
But for good quality color copies and laser b/w the costs are approx. $25 for the flip chart and $15 for the training manual. Plus there'd be another few bucks for shipping. Still interested? Hi Gang;
Due to forgetfulness of factoring the back pages of the salesmans' flip chart, there has been a slight price adjustment (upward unfortunately). The cost of the flip chart will now be about $30-35. Just so you know, it's 30 pages long. The front page, which faces the client, has either color on it or a photo or both (.70/pg for reproduction). The back side, which the salesman reads, is just b&w (.30/pg for laser copy).
The training notebook price is the same (about $15).
Here's who I have that replied to the hostboard that they would like copies:
Todd, Tura, Joe, Sam, Peter, Gwen, Debi
I only have email confirmation from:
Todd, Sam, and Peter.
So, please email me at [email][email protected][/email] if you want to be included. The price estimates I got were for making 6 copies, so things may be a little more expensive with fewer people (or less expensive with more people). Let's try to confirm everything my next Wed. (Oct. 19) with the people who want copies.
